Bookkeeping - what I do

23rd April, 2017

Ever thought about Networking?

10th September 2017

I went to a BNI networking meeting last week, met some lovely people, I am planning to join as they want a bookkeeper to join the group. It seems like a great way to make contacts and hopefully help to build my client base.

I also go to local network group which meets once a month.

New set up on Xero.

A new client set up on Xero, I'm going to be doing their bookkeeping and VAT returns. The client found VAT returns stressful so hoping I can relieve this by submitting it for them as an agent.

Fitting all the pieces together like a jigsaw

10th October 2017

I've been working on 3 new client setups this week where I need to do the bookkeeping or reconciliation back to the start of their financial year. Very satisfying when all the pieces come together and the financial picture is complete.

Xero Migration cont...

16th November 2017

I have been helping a client who migrated across from Sage desktop to Xero but unfortunately there were lots of errors. I manually made changes so that the opening balances were correct and sorted out the bank, purchase and sales ledger balances. I also gave some support to their current bookkeeper to teach her how to use various aspects of Xero.

I Love What I do!

25th February 2018

I am really enjoying my job, it is hard work being self employed but I love the flexibility of working for myself. I am building a great client base with a variety of businesses, all with differing needs. I can create a bespoke package to suit each one needs and this can grow and develop with time.

I love getting to know what a business does so I can help to reduce their bookkeeping load.

It is so important to have a will and power of attorney set up. If you run your own business or have children it is even more important. Does your will include what happens to your business if anything happens to you? I can highly recommend Angela's service.

Here's a few tips to keep your online presence password protected. Ensure you pick something which shows as 'strong' on the password rating. Select something difficult that someone else would be unlikely to guess. Be sure to use a mixture of lower and upper case letters, numbers and symbols.

8th May 2018

It's so important for businesses to have an accurate view on their accounts.

Regular bookkeeping means that businesses know who owes them money and who needs to be paid when. Bookkeepers can help you set up a system that is tailored to your needs.

31st May 2018

There are two things getting in the way of a business or sole trader doing their bookkeeping themselves-time and knowing how. A bookkeeper is more efficient and also frees up time for businesses to concentrate on growing their own business.

Who do you know who may benefit from my help?

5th June 2018

Using an app to scan and upload receipts means you no longer have to contend with piles of receipts.

12th June 2018

Using an app linked to cloud software is so useful. It means you can do invoicing on the go!

I love helping new businesses! I've been busy helping a new business organise their chart of accounts so that they can easily track their income and expenditure. This included checking VAT to ensure it is coded correctly due to purchases from abroad. This has given them more time for their business.

Do get in touch if I can help you!

I was recently invited to spend some time at Xero HQ. It was very interesting to hear about all the exciting things they have planned.

6th November 2018

Did you know that bookkeepers often help community groups, committees, and charities with their books? Often this role is taken on in a voluntary capacity, however sometimes it's hard to find the right person or people just don't have the time. This is where a Bookkeeper can help.
